About This Experience
This fascinating tour begins at the BORGHESE GALLERY, located within the magnificent Villa Borghese, one of Rome’s most beautiful parks. The Gallery is divided into two sections: the ground floor, featuring exquisite sculptures, and the upper-floor Gallery, showcasing an impressive collection of paintings.
For centuries, the Gallery has been celebrated as “the sovereign of all private art collections” and houses masterpieces collected by the Borghese Family (Pope Paul V was a member of the family) in their magnificent summer residence from the 1600s onwards. Bernini’s sculptures, along with works by Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian, and other celebrated artists, represent just a few highlights of this extraordinary artistic treasure. The collection also features Canova’s renowned nude sculpture of Napoleon’s sister, Paolina Bonaparte Borghese.
